This is the first in a series of videos I'm doing about animating on paper in the present day. For people unable to get access to a tablet, but who still have a working computer with a scanner.

Here's a guide I made for people just getting started in Adobe Animate/Flash.

I also made a video showing off a quick little tip for coloring faster in Photoshop:

Hopefully someone will find these useful. I plan on doing a lot more in the future so let me know if there's anything you think I should go over.

Just doing my scheduled check in to prove that I'm still alive. And I'm still making youtube thingies:

Might be looking for voice actors in the near future for some upcoming things.

The second part of my Kerslash Commentary is up:

It's fun to go back and look at your old stuff with fresh eyes every once in a while, and experience it the way everybody else did.

I talk about animating on paper, having to make scenes from the comics, and being too worried about action, among other things.

I have a new youtube video where I rant and rave about anime intros:

What's up Newgrounds!

It's time for a status check, like when you're playing an rpg and you go to the menu screen...(this is a segway)

My RPG game Tangerine is currently on hiatus as I've hit a game breaking snag that will require me to rebuild the game from scratch. It's just as well because I really needed a break from game design. There are so many updates and changes I want to make in the interum as well that it will look like an entirely different game once I get back to it. If you're a preservationist, you should play the current demo now because I'm planning on burning all evidence of this version once I'm finally ready to move on to version 2.0:

https://rpgmaker.net/games/8947/downloads/10102/

In addition to my animated content, I've been making a dedicated effort to produce more short form video content in the form of Youtube animation advice and tutorials:

And a whole other youtube channel where I make recreational Anime Music Videos (or AMV's, as the kids like to call them) to blow off steam when I'm burnt out from animation. You should definitely subscribe to this channel because there's nowhere else on the internet where you'll see such  a high quality Kill La Kill AMV set to the music of Total (and that's guaranteed):

My last great pillar of video content is my twitch channel where you can watch me be good at video games. Sometimes my wife is there playing Burger Time and hanging out:

Watch Streets of Bum from bustercancel on www.twitch.tv

Okay, stop. Before you ask yes, I'm still working on Kerslash. But it'll be a little while before I have anything I can show you. Just know that it's coming and I'm really excited about it. I just can't comment on how long it's going to actually take; but let's just say sooner than it took to get episode 2...

And that's it! You beatiful people stay classy!!!!

Hey guys, long time no see. It's been dead on my page for a while and I'm just checking in to let you guys know I'm still alive and to give you some updates on what I've been up to.

760787_153569992133_title.jpg

As you guys may have heard a while back, i was working on a short RPG Maker game that ballooned into a huge time sink. I was dead set on finishing this game but I've become frustrated with fighting with this engine to try and pull off what I'm trying to do. So the game is currently on hiatus, but there's an updated demo if you want to check it out:

https://rpgmaker.net/games/8947/

In the future I think I'll handle games by designing mockups and graphics and passing it to an actual programmer.

Some other things, I've been a guest on Sketch Watch Play, a podcast about animation and video games and stuff:

This was my first time on there, but I was on there again just recently talking about Record of Lodoss War and Mega Man X: http://sketchwatchplay.libsyn.com/30-record-of-lodoss-warant-man-and-the-waspmega-man-x-legacy-collection

Still working my dope day job making corporate anime for the man:

And then finally there's Kerslash:

I took a bit of a break from Kerslash after finishing episode 2 and getting a generally "meh" reaction to it. To be honest I got a little discouraged and almost gave up on the series entirely. My RPG game was supposed to be a fun little diversion to blow off steam, but since I'm pretty much done with that for now I'm ready to get back to Kerslash. I'm currently in the process of redoing the intro for the last 2 episodes of this "arc". Once all 4 episodes are done I'm planning on going back and re-editing all of it together into a short film, with redone/extended animation on some parts. I only hope all my original voice actors will still be available.

That's pretty much everything I have to report. I spent some time focusing on getting more content out on both my Twitch and Youtube channels and almost completely forgot about Newgrounds. So my plan moving forward is to get back to posting regularly on here again and making stuff specifically for this site and more importantly for the fans that follow me on here. You guys are the greatest!

Hey guys, how's your holiday been?

I know it's been a while so I thought I'd give you guys a small update as to what I've been up to.

First there's my little rpg maker game I'm still working on that started as a small thing to blow off steam and is quickly turning into it's own huge project. I released a short demo for it if you want to check it out: https://rpgmaker.net/games/8947/blog/17671/ (This version doesn't have all the correct voices yet and has mostly placeholders.)

I added a boss fight at the end that's pretty tough because you're supposed to be able to have more cave to grind/explore through before hand. You have to have Chieki's Inferno Slash that she get's at lvl3 to even stand a chance. Also, make sure to stock up on items before the fight.

Aside from that I've just been working on stuff from my day job; and I've started messing around with making these live videos of myself drawing stuff:

Also, I finally posted this interview I did on my cousin's radio show a year ago when I first got my animation job. It took me a while to post it because I had to wait to get permission from the station to share it:

But what about Kerslash? No new Kerslash stuff to show yet, but I'm gearing up to start working on the 3rd episode. My original plan was to have the first arc of Kerslash be 5 episodes but I'm currently trying to compress it down to 4 and make the last 2 eps slightly longer than the first 2. Also, there might be a new intro...

So that's pretty much it for right now. I feel like I've been saying this forever, but I'm planning on putting together some animation/flash tutorials on my YT channel in the near future when I have a little bit more free time to spare.

Also, maybe more comics (also, when more freetime)

[/end transmission]

So I've had this RPG Maker software on my computer for some time and I thought it'd be great to pump out a game while I had some time inbetween animation projects:

https://rpgmaker.net/games/8947/

It's called Tangerine and when it's all done, it'll probably be around 1 or 2 hours long.

This is actually based on a short little comic I was planning to do a while back, but when I was trying to think of a story idea I figured it was the best fit because it already had a bunch of references to classic RPG's and stuff. All the in game art will be hand drawn because I'm not a big fan of the pixelated tile system.

I like difficult RPG's though, so don't expect this to be a cake walk...

Even though this is just a measely little RPG Maker game, working on it has given me a new found appreciation for the overall design of modern RPG's. Seeing stuff like Grand Kingdom UI design after spending so much time designing the look of my battle system is mind blowing.

I have a bunch of other game engines just laying around on my pc, so who knows; maybe I'll dedicate some time to cranking out a bunch of different games and we'll finally get to see that Kerslash fighting game I've been fantisizing about...

When I get close to being finished I'm going to be needing some voice actors that can say ridiculous things like "INFERNO SLASH!" and have it sound cool. I'm also debating on whether or not to add some animated cutscenes later on, but for now I'm just focused on finishing this thing.

I'll drop a link when I have a playable demo ready...
