Here's a quick little preview of Paige doing her thing in episode 2:
Very short and sweet. Experimenting with a lot of different techniques for doing shadows and shading effects in flash. For right now I'm ditching the hard anime shadows and going for a look I described as, "liquid television" for those of you old enough to remember that.
Also, a quick little reminder that I'm still excepting fan art for the print version of the webcomic. You guys have approximately 2 more weeks before the deadline!

Got a new Kerslash vlog up! You'll earn an achievement if you are able to survive listening to that same song play over and over again.
This video consists of me inking my key animation before getting started on my inbetweens. If you have any questions about my process or anything, I'll answer it in the comments on the youtube channel. I'll answer questions here too, it's just nice to be able to chat back and forth.
Also don't forget to subscribe to both of my youtube channels!
Cheers!

So I'm working on a trade paper back collection of the original Keralsh webcomic and it's going to have a section for Fan Art! If you're interested submitting something, here are the details:
-I need it in black & white (gray scale)
-At least 300 dpi for resolution
-dimensions must fit 6 x 9 inch dimensions
-send all submissions to kerslash@gmail.com
-include the name you want printed with your work with your submission
The deadline is August 31, so that gives you a little over a month.
You can find reference images here.
Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with!

Here's a quick little Vlog I did at 4 in the morning to give you guys a better idea of my work space. I also briefly talk about my process for roughing out a script and show some of my materials that I use to work with. You even get a nice little preview of episode 2 of kerslash. Also, here's another video of me working on the storyboards/animatic, for those of you that are into that kind of thing:

A million gil if you can guess where that music is from!
It would also be cool if you subscribed to the Kerlsash youtube channel if you haven't already :P

I have created a new series called AMV Attack! It is a top 5 anime music video countdown show with an animated ninja girl host:
.
/* */
This series is inspired by my love of classic music video countdown shows of the 90's and early 2000's. Shows like Video Soul, the early incarnation of 106 & Park with AJ and Free, and yes even Cita's World.
I got the idea to do this just dumpster diving through youtube, trying to find some decent amv's. It's hard to find ones that really stand out, so I hope to do the internet a service by collecting the best ones and featuring them on the countdown.
The key is audience participation; that is commenting on episodes and recommending videos you have made or seen for the countdown.
I'm also still actively working on episode 2 of Kerslash, so hopefully AMV Attack will prove to be a nice diversion. If it does well, I'll start doing episodes of AMV Attack once a month.
Hope you guys enjoy it. Feel free to give critiques and comments on what you think; this is a really experimental idea for me and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

I want to make more video tutorials similar to my Flash coloring tutorial that I did a while ago.
What you guys can do is message or email me an animation or flash based request (or even a drawing question) for a tutorial and I'll do a video for it.
So is there something you've been trying to do in flash that you just can't figure out, or do you just need to know the basics of animating in flash? Do you want to know how I did something, or how to do something that you saw someone else do? Let me know and I'll try and walk you through it as best I can.
I can also give you guys insights into my own process for producing animation. There are so many tricks and things that I had to just figure out the hard way, but this is an opportunity for me to share everything I've learned with you guys and help you be successful with your own projects.
So yeah, hit me up and tell me what you guys want to see!

The Kerslash site gets a face lift!
The website is still a work in progress, but you can still go there and put your feet up for a while. Also, if you have a website, link Kerslash and I'll link you back (link exchange!!!)
Cheers!
